So New Line Cinema fired a bunch of people? The last I heard of any of this was a few weeks ago and it sounded like it happened or was going to happen because movies like Semi-Pro did poorly at the box office.
First of all, I laughed quite a bit at Semi-Pro. It was just as good as Ferrell’s last few films.
What wasn’t good about it was the advertising. Nothing…absolutely nothing about the trailers seemed appealing. Nothing in the trailers sold the story. It just showed Will Ferrell doing crazy and very unrelated things.
How about not firing a bunch of hard working film employees that had nothing to do with the outcome of the film and instead fire the advertising/marketing firm that sold the movie. It seems like with the proper ad campaign this movie might have had a chance.
